Lagos, July 14, 2021(NAN) Dr Ayo Teriba, Chief Executive Officer, Economic Associates, has urged organisations to embrace the fast-paced changes in the evolving global ecosystem to engender wealth creation.
The renowned economist gave the advice at a Nigerian Institute of Management Chartered (NIM) event on Thursday in Lagos, themed: “Celebrating 60 Years of Management Excellence: Poised for More!”
Teriba said that such step was necessary with the world transiting from being export-manufacturing-centric to a service-knowledge-centric ecosystem.
He said that the evolving ecosystem of global wealth creation had led to the fragmentation of global trade and a new wave of global deal making. ....

Players in the Nigerian economy have advised the Federal Government to reduce its unnecessary expenditures, address security and diversify revenue source.
They said these measures were relevant to check rising cost of governance and dwindling revenues.
The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, on Monday admitted that the nation’s economy was facing a difficult time.
“These are very difficult challenging times because revenues are low and the demand for expenditures are very high understandably because we have to keep intervening to make sure the pandemic is contained as well as the economic impact it has caused,” she said. ....

Public finance experts and business analysts have urged various state governors to focus more on Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) than to be relying on the Federal Government monthly allocation to fund their states.
They also urged them to be transparent in their fiscal activities and accountable to people.
This was a summation at a monthly round table organised by the Centre for International Advanced and Professional Studies (CIAPS) in Lagos and tagged, “Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability of Nigerian States.” ....

Following the Central Bank of Nigeria directive to banks and other financial institutions on Friday ordering the closure of all accounts operating cryptocurrency exchanges, some experts in cryptocurrency trading have raised the alarm over its economic impact.
The Blockchain Solutions Architect, Mr Charles OkaforMbah, in an interview with
Sunday PUNCH, noted that crypto trading is divided into formal and informal exchanges.
“There are the formal exchanges, like Binance, which is the most popular; and Patricia. We have some other players, like BuyCoins and Bundle Africa. If we put (together) the figures from these traders, we could be seeing a huge amount on a weekly basis. ....
