The national picture:
There were no Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours – taking the total number of people who have died with coronavirus since the start of the pandemic to 5,552.
PHW confirmed 47 new cases today, which sees figures for the total number of cases in Wales rise to 211,773 people since the start of the pandemic.
Elsewhere, most adults under the age of 40 will be given an alternative to the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine due to a link with rare blood clots.
The UK s medicines safety regulator says there have been 242 clotting cases and 49 deaths, with 28.5 million doses of the vaccine administered. But the risk is slightly higher in younger age groups. ....

Wales has reported one further Covid-related death in the last 24 hours – taking the total number of people who have died with coronavirus since the start of the pandemic to 5,551.
PHW confirmed 65 new cases today, which sees figures for the total number of cases in Wales rise to 211,638 people since the start of the pandemic.
Public Health Wales statement:
Dr Giri Shankar, incident director for the coronavirus outbreak response at Public Health Wales, said: “As of yesterday, Monday May 3, further relaxation of the regulations came into place, meaning that Wales is now in Alert Level 3.
“Two households can again form an exclusive extended household ‘bubble’ and can spend time indoors together. Supervised indoor activities for children can resume, along with indoor organised activities for up to 15 adults (such as exercise classes and swimming lessons) and community centres can reopen. ....

Wales has reported two further Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours.
PHW confirmed 69 new cases on Thursday, which sees figures for the number of people who have died with coronavirus since the start of the pandemic reach 5,550, while the total number of cases stands at 211,548 people.
Wales is now averaging about 50 Covid cases a week, compared to about 3,500 over the same period in December.
Plans for an app that would allow people to show if they have had a Covid vaccine, meanwhile, need to involve all parts of the UK, Wales first minister has said.
Mark Drakeford was responding to comments from transport secretary Grant Shapps who said officials are working on such an app. ....

Wales has reported no further Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours for the fourth time in the last eight days.
Wales case rate has dropped to its lowest since September 1, with 11.9 per 100,000 people testing positive, while weekly average case numbers are also at their lowest for eight months.
PHW confirmed 35 new cases on Wednesday and no deaths. Wales is now averaging about 50 Covid cases a week, compared to about 3,500 over the same period in December.
