Australian PM Scott Morrison has placed a pause on all flights from India, but there is still a loophole travellers from the Covid-19-ravaged nation can use to bypass the ban.
The decision to pause flights came in a bid to reduce the number of infected travellers arriving in Australia, with hotel quarantine cases across the country skyrocketing in recent days.
However, it is still possible for anyone with a valid travel exemption to get around the ban by transiting through another country. ....

A Chinese man with Down s syndrome was kidnapped, drugged, stuffed in a coffin and cremated alive in place of a wealthy stranger who wanted to bypass a government ban on burials.
The wealthy deceased man – known only by his surname Huang – died from cancer in February 2017 and told his family before he died that he wished to be buried, according to the South China Morning Post.
The family hired someone to find a substitute body that could be cremated in place of their relative s. ....

Why a key Gympie road will be shut for 3 months


Drivers travelling between Gympie and the coast will have to take a detour with Gympie Connection Road to be shut for three months as part of work on the $1 billion bypass.
The stretch of the road between Old Goomboorian Road and Tin Can Bay Road will be closed from Monday April 12 for three months to allow construction to continue.
Vehicles will instead be diverted along Ascot and Tin Can Bay roads.
Traffic management will also be in place between the North Coast rail line and Ascot Road for a 14 month stretch.
Traffic detours and delays will be common on Gympie Connection Road for several months. ....
