At least 20,000 Wisconsin Public Service customers lost power during severe thunderstorms in northcentral Wisconsin on Wednesday night.
As of 6:00 a.m., Wisconsin Public Service said Marathon County had over 10-thousand customers without power.
The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office in a Facebook post urged people to drive with caution.
They said damage from the severe weather can be seen across the county, with a large number of calls about trees and powerlines in the road.
In Lincoln County, 6,700 Wisconsin Public Service customers were still without power at 6:00 a.m. The Pine River Fire Department, which covers southern Lincoln County, reported that Highway 64 was impassable in much of the area after the storm. Highway 64 is now open again.
