Shoppers pharmacies begin offering 24/7 COVID-19 vaccines today

Ontario and Shoppers Drug Mart announced on Tuesday that the company’s pharmacies will start offering 24-7 COVID-19 vaccinations for people over the age of 40.
Twenty locations, including 16 in the hot spot communities of Toronto, Peel Region and York Region, will start offering the AstraZeneca shot as soon as Wednesday.
Participating Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacies offering jabs 24 hours a day, seven days a week include:

The demand for the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine has reversed course in Ontario as the shot becomes available to younger residents.
People aged 40 and older are now able to start getting the shot at some 1,400 pharmacies across the province.
A spokesperson for Loblaw, which runs its own pharmacies along with Shoppers Drug Mart, tells the Toronto Star, that demand for the vaccine now exceeds the supply. ....

Coronavirus: National vaccine panel to update advice on use of AstraZeneca shots

OTTAWA
As some provinces begin expanding eligibility for the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) is set to release updated guidance about the usage of the two-dose viral vector injection.
Members of the advisory group focused on issuing recommendations on the use of vaccines in Canada will be joined by federal and provincial officials for a briefing on NACIâs AstraZeneca âevidence summary update,â following a meeting on the topic last week.
While Health Canada has authorized the AstraZeneca vaccine for use in Canadians aged 18 and over, in late March, reacting to concerns over the rare risk of blood clots, NACI issued guidance recommending that the vaccine only be used in adults 55 years of age and older. ....
