Toyota Pushes Forward With Hydrogen, Sets Up New Production And Refueling Center In Australia


Victoria sees its first commercial-grade hydrogen production, storage, and refueling facility come online as Toyota has transformed its former manufacturing space at Altona in the west of Melbourne.
According to the Japanese auto-making giant, sustainable hydrogen will play a key role in fueling eco-friendly vehicles such as the Toyota Mirai, the first mass-produced hydrogen-powered vehicle that has zero C02 emissions, no need to recharge batteries and is capable of driving up to 650 km (404 miles) on a single refuel.
CSIRO Hydrogen Industry Mission Dr. Patrick Hartley stated at the opening that the infrastructure commissioned at the new facility will greatly help the progression of deploying hydrogen-powered vehicles, contributing immensely for the transportation sector in Australia to take a step in the direction of energy transition. ....

The Clayton Hydrogen Cluster will be connected with ARENA2036 and Cleantech Japan, creating an Australian-first international hydrogen development partnership through knowledge-sharing and twin capacity development.
“We welcome the strong support from NERA and the Victorian government in the establishment of the Clayton Hydrogen Technology Cluster,” says Swinburne Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise), Professor Bronwyn Fox.
“Hydrogen research is a strategic focus at Swinburne. Through the Technology Demonstration Centre and our extensive connections via the cluster, the wider industrial community, manufacturing and service industry partners based in the Clayton region will be effectively engaged in helping to drive green hydrogen supply chain development.” ....

Fears for missing boy

A desperate search is under way for a teenage boy who vanished from a western Sydney home five days ago.
Patrick Hartley left an address on West Wilchard Road in Castlereagh on Sunday night.
He has not been seen or heard from since.
Officers have launched a wide-scale search for the teenager
Police and family have serious concerns for his welfare, NSW Police said in a statement.
Patrick is caucasian, 140cm tall, with brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, a black beanie and glasses with a black frame.
He is known to frequent the West Wyalong and Goulburn areas. ....

Child missing from Castlereagh


Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a boy missing from Sydney’s west.
Patrick Hartley, aged 13, was last seen about 8pm on Sunday 17 January 2021, when he left an address on West Wilchard Road, Castlereagh. He has not been seen or heard from since.
He was reported missing to officers from Nepean Police Area Command, who have commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.
Police and family have serious concerns for his welfare.
