CDC lifts most restrictions on vaccinated Americans and Milwaukee will lift many limits on June 15

It was a very good day. The CDC lifted most restrictions for the fully vaccinated, the City of Milwaukee will lift many of its restrictions on June 15 and the Brewers are opening up to full capacity on June 25. There is hope for summer.  I think it actually is the day we have been waiting for, the day we feel good and safe gathering indoors, said Patrick Remington, a former epidemiologist for the CDC. ....

Vos denied immunocompromised lawmaker's request to work virtually

MADISON - The leader of the state Assembly earlier this year rejected an immunocompromised lawmaker s request to work virtually on the basis that COVID-19 could not be transmitted through the air, despite guidance from epidemiologists and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention saying otherwise.    
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester, and the Legislature s human resources director, Amanda Jorgenson, have rejected requests from Rep. Jodi Emerson, D-Eau Claire, to participate in floor sessions and committee hearings from her office.
The requests were made by Emerson and her doctor to reduce Emerson s risk of contracting the virus until she became fully vaccinated because of a medication she takes to suppress her immune system to manage an autoimmune disease Emerson was diagnosed with years ago. ....

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Republican speaker of the Wisconsin Assembly last month rejected an immunocompromised Democratic lawmaker s request to be allowed to work virtually because the speaker erroneously insisted that COVID-19 can t be transmitted through the air.
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and the Legislature’s human resources director, Amanda Jorgenson, have each rejected requests from Democratic state Rep. Jodi Emerson to be allowed to participate in floor sessions and committee hearings from her office instead of in person, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Tuesday.the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
The Eau Claire lawmaker and her doctor made the request to reduce Emerson’s risk of contracting the virus because of a medication she takes to suppress her immune system to manage an autoimmune disease that she was diagnosed with years ago, the newspaper reported. ....
