“You would cry too if it happened to you!”
The Republican Party in Pennsylvania appears to be having its own Lesley Gore moment now, as a number of county party committees have taken action this week to condemn the U.S. Senator Pat Toomey, R-Allentown, for his vote last week to convict former President Donald J. Trump of inciting violence at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski will face voters in 2022 but her state's new primary and voting system likely means she'll be in less danger of losing her primary.

America deserves leaders who will honor the constitution, protect our democracy and unite the nation.
We don’t deserve leaders who spread lies to try to nullify free and fair elections, because their candidate lost.
We don’t deserve leaders who stand with right-wing extremists and incite them to violence, as happened on Jan. 6.
And we don’t deserve to have the seat of America’s democracy defiled by traitors, as it was after the president sent them marching down Pennsylvania Avenue.

What Pa. lawmakers liked and loathed in the $900B coronavirus relief package
Updated Dec 22, 2020;
Pennsylvania lawmakers hailed the passage of the coronavirus relief package, even as they noted its shortcomings and late arrival.
The $900 billion package approved late Monday night would provide $600 in stimulus payments to most Americans; a temporary weekly benefit of $300 for the unemployed; and aid for business, restaurants, health care providers and schools. It was merged with a broader $1.4 trillion bill to finance federal government programs.
Late Tuesday, President Donald Trump assailed the stimulus package as insufficient and said he may not sign it. Trump said he is asking Congress to amend the bill and “increase the ridiculously low $600 to $2,000, or $4,000 for a couple. I am also asking Congress to get rid of the wasteful and unnecessary items from this legislation and to send me a suitable bill.”
