A book discussion was held Saturday night in Carencro during which participants discussed voting rights of Black citizens and Black women in the United States.
Part of Louisiana Literary & Speakers Series from Southern University Law Center, the discussion focused on the book Black women Suffrage Movement and Black Voting Rights.
The Zoom webinar was moderated by Dr. Theodore Foster, a professor of history at UL and featured discussion from John Pierre, a professor and dean of Southern University Law Center; Alana Odoms, Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union; Jonathan C.
