The nominees for this year s AIM Independent Music Awards have been announced, with Bicep and Floating Points among those bagging two nominations each. Bicep have received nominations in the International Breakthrough and Best [Difficult] Second Album categories, while Floating Points has been recognised in the Best Independent Remix category, for his remix of Thundercat s Fair Chance , and Best Independent Album category, for Promises , his collaborative album with Pharoah Sanders and the London Symphony Orchestra. Elsewhere, India Jordan and Conducta have been recognised among the UK Independent Breakthrough nominees, and Ninja Tune artists Jayda G and 박혜진 Park Hye Jin join fellow label act Bicep in the Independent Breakthrough category.

By 2008, when Terre Thaemlitz unveiled her deep-house masterpiece Midtown 120 Blues, heâd been hired and fired as a DJ in some of NYCâs most infamous and beloved trans bars; sold out venues around the world while first relocating to Oakland and then Japan; and released a string of experimental recordings on heady labels like Mille Plateaux. (Thaemlitz, who identifies as transgender and subscribes to a ânon-essentialistâ notion of gender identity, uses alternating pronouns.) Christian Eede , April 15th, 2021 13:02 The 52-track release takes in music by Juan Atkins, Helena Hauff, Jeff Mills and lots more Tresor has shared full details of a 30th anniversary box set that will be released later this year. TRESOR 30 takes in 52 tracks in all, much of it brand new. Among those contributing new and unreleased tracks to the compilation are Surgeon, KMRU, Function, Regis + James Ruskin (as O/V/R), LSDXOXO, Donato Dozzy, DJ Stingray, Speaker Music, AFRODEUTSCHE, and Moritz von Oswald. Select older cuts from the Tresor archives also feature, including tracks from Jeff Mills, Joey Beltram, Basic Channel, Juan Atkins, Drexciya and Porter Ricks. The compilation is curated by Carin Abdulá, who is head booking agent at OUTER Agency.
