BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Whatcom County’s Health Department Director says she received disturbing threats after a member of the county council posted her mobile phone number on social media.
Erika Lautenback says she reported the threats to the Sheriff’s Office after Councilmember Kathy Kershner included her phone number in posts of an email exchange about funding for a vaccination program.
The Bellingham Herald reports Lautenbach had requested funds to continue a program encouraging young adults to get vaccinated.
Kershner didn’t support the funding and posted the exchange with Lautenbach on Facebook on July 14th along with a statement that the county health department needed to be “reined in.” ....
