On Wednesday morning I picked up a prescription for my wife at the CVS Pharmacy that is located inside the Godfrey Schnucks. While convenient, this Baby Boomer waxes nostalgic for the local pharmacies of old that had their own buildings and were family-operated.
My family had its prescriptions filled at Campbell Pharmacy, which was located on the corner of East Broadway and Market. Dr. Mike Mitchell was our family physician. In that pre-computer era, Dr. Mitchell just picked up the phone in his office while you were seated there and told Homer Campbell the prescription you needed. ....
