Downers Grove moving ahead with drainage improvement project
Updated 1/22/2021 4:30 PM Downers Grove officials have revived a major infrastructure project that was canceled last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The village has budgeted roughly $4 million for the Burlington Highlands drainage improvement project, which is slated to begin in March. The work will include the construction of a new and updated storm sewer system, regraded ditches and a detention basin.
The Burlington Highlands neighborhood is north of Ogden Avenue along portions of Downers Drive, Seeley Avenue, Belle Aire Lane and Venard Road. Andrew Sikich, Downers Grove s director of public works, told village council members on Jan. 12 that the revamped project will include water main and resurfacing work on Venard Road between Ogden and Drove avenues. ....
