Donald W. Major, 69, of Bellaire, Ohio died May 8, 2021 in Wheeling Hospital. He was born January 6, 1952 in Bellaire, a son of the late Alfred Willis Major and Edna LuGail Wallace Major. Don was a 1970 graduate of the Bellaire High School. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and later graduated from the OVGH School of Nursing. He was a retired Registered Nurse from the former Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling with 41 dedicated years of service. Serving with the Belmont County Veteran’s Association honoring veterans, gardening and collecting Air Force memorabilia were things he enjoyed. Don will always be remembered as a caring person and compassionate nurse. ....
September 8, 1951- April 17, 2021 Joanne Meyer Vorpahl was born September 8, 1951in Austin, Texas to Clarence C. Meyer and Joann Helwig Meyer. She became an angel wrapped in Godâs loving arms on April 17, 2021, joining her parents, brother Ernie, and other family members whom had gone before her. Jo grew up in Houston, and graduated from Bellaire High School. She attended Texas Lutheran (College) University in Seguin, Texas, graduating in May, 1973. Jo married Dwight Vorpahl on June 23, 1973 at Faith Lutheran Church, Bellaire, Texas. The couple moved back to Seguin and while Dwight was attending law school at St. Maryâs University in San Antonio Jo taught economics and government and coached the debate team at Seguin High School from September 1973 until May 1975. ....
This high school has nine valedictorians and they all earned a 5.0 GPA By Caitlin O Kane Nine students named valedictorian at school A high school in Houston, Texas just revealed who is at the top of the Class of 2021 – and announced a whopping nine students are sharing the title of valedictorian. Each of the nine seniors have a 5.0 grade-point average. Bellaire High School Principal Michael McDonough said he started hearing that the Class of 2021 was something special during their freshman year. But having nine students all with the same, impressive GPA, shocked him. I began to consider the idea of two to three valedictorians, but I never imagined nine, McDonough said.
