LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) “It’s not like they’ve rehearsed, how they’re saying their lines,” said Brown. “It’s like it’s coming from the heart. It’s coming from the core.”
Belmont Track Scholars walked the red carpet on Thursday at the Lincoln Community Playhouse for the premiere of an LPS documentary, ‘We Will Not Be Silent’.

We Will Not Be Silent follows a group of fifth graders as they navigate through the pandemic.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Public Schools and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Rally and March is set to hold a red carpet premiere of “We Will Not Be Silent” on Friday. The film is produced by the LPS Library Services Department.
The documentary follows the four-month journey of eight students from Belmont Elementary School and mentors who have guided them. It highlights their journey navigating through a pandemic as well as preparing for their moving performance at the MLK Youth Rally and March in January 2021. ....

Women's team places second, men's fifth in Murray State Open

Two weeks after the Belmont Opener, the Racer cross country team hosted the Murray State Open on Friday, Feb. 5, at the Miller Memorial Golf Course. This meet was the second of three regular season meets for the Racers. 
The women’s team faced six other teams while the men’s team faced five. Both teams competed against Morehead State, SIUE, University of North Alabama, Campbellsville University and University of Evansville for both teams, while the women’s team also ran against Jacksonville State. 
Coming in second place overall with a total of 60 points, the women’s team was led by junior Dani Wright, at 19:30.6 in third place. Following Wright was junior Emma Creviston with a time of 19:36.8 in sixth place.  ....
