One person dead in 12th Street crash A sedan crashed into a utility pole in the area of 12th Street and Belford Avenue on Friday night killing one person and injuring another. Police responded to the crash shortly after 9 p.m. on Friday and found one person ejected from the car who was taken to the hospital, according to a news release from the Grand Junction Police Department. The extent of that personâs injuries were not reported. Another person was found dead inside the vehicle and required extrication by the Grand Junction Fire Department. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. ....

After additional information surfaced, Mesa County Sheriffâs Office investigators have amended the charges for two local men suspected in an early morning drive-by shooting on Thursday. Justin Fowler, 21, and Trey Shriver, 20, now face attempted first-degree murder charges and each received $500,000 cash-only bonds from Mesa County Court on Friday. If this story wasnât strange enough, Fowler and Shriver are also being charged with several offenses after bullet holes were discovered in several second-floor windows at the Grand Junction Police Department building at 555 Ute Ave. on Thursday.
