The fifth annual Scots Day of Giving was the best yet for Monmouth College. Their fundraising effort netted the college over 268-thousand dollars, a record for money raised. Additionally, the school set a record for the number of donors to the effort: 964. Earmarked to receive those funds are five initiatives that the College's Office of Development and College Relations selected to focus on this year: the Scots Care Fund for students in need; an outdoor Wi-Fi hotspot with the Parent & Family Council; the Champion Miller 1860 Fund, which promotes campus diversity; the Fighting Scots Society; and the Monmouth Fund. Bagpipes signaled the start of Scots Day of Giving at 5 a.m., kicking off 18 hours and 53 minutes of activities in honor of the College's founding in 1853. Alumni Board members got the day started with an Early Bird Challenge, pledging that gifts received between 6-10 a.m. would be matched 2-to-1. Throughout the day, an anonymous donor pledged to donate $10,000
On Tuesday, the entire William & Mary community joined together once again for an historic and successful
One Tribe One Day (OTOD). A total of 10,556 students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends collectively gave over $3 million to more than 700 areas across the university underscoring the remarkable generosity in the midst of a pandemic. This year, William & Mary broke the record for the most dollars raised on OTOD.
Gifts received on this annual day of giving benefited a broad range of initiatives that will have a direct impact on William & Mary’s educational experience and future. Since its inception eight years ago, OTOD has inspired more than 41,700 donors to give a total of $16.4 million to William & Mary.
One Tribe One Day: This is a chance for our whole community to make a difference and strengthen W&M. Each member of the community provides a critical piece to the dynamic puzzle that must come together to shape W&M’s future.

Next Tuesday, April 13, is One Tribe One Day William & Mary’s eighth annual celebration of giving back and paying it forward.
This year, schools and programs throughout the university are hosting 20 virtual events to share updates, hear your ideas and provide opportunities for networking. These events will feature stories of impact, connect the community and invite participants to partner in the work being done across campus. The events will range from panels that highlight W&M s diversity, equity and inclusion work to interactive open houses, yoga and cocktail making.
