Edward Ellis, III began his work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Chattanooga in 2014. Initially, Mr. Ellis served as a match support specialist, providing ongoing guidance and support to Littles, Parents/Guardians, and Volunteer Bigs on a regular basis. Match support specialists monitor mentoring interactions and offer insights and advice to ensure child safety, facilitate healthy relationship development and promote positive youth outcomes.
In October of 2020, Mr. Ellis was promoted to lead the agency in continued efforts towards DEI progress as the Diversity Partnerships Manager. As COVID Case Numbers Drop in Portland, Local Libraries Plan for Reopening


Though there is no confirmed date for a reopening, plans call for starting with five branches, chosen because they are close to historically underserved communities, says deputy library director Terrilyn Chun.
The five branches are Capitol Hill in Southwest Portland, Gresham in eastern Multnomah County, Holgate and Midland in Southeast Portland, and the Kenton in North Portland.
Multnomah County Commission Chair Deborah Kafoury needs to sign off on any reopening plans, says Shawn Cunningham, a spokesperson for the library system. Kafoury is meeting in the next week or so with library officials to discuss timelines, Cunningham says.
After those branches reopen for limited service, Chun says, the landmark Central Library is next, though that comes with its own set of challenges. Gideon Gartner, visionary of technology research, dies at 85

Gideon Gartner, whose technology research firm the Gartner Group revolutionized an influential and lucrative sector of the technology industry by providing crucial research, analysis and advice for corporate computer executives, died Dec. 12 at his home in Manhattan. He was 85.
The cause was complications from Alzheimer’s disease, said his son Perry Gartner.
An MIT-trained engineer and Wall Street analyst, Mr. Gartner put an indelible stamp on the tech research industry in 1979 when he started the Gartner Group.
