Updated: 1:27 PM EDT May 11, 2021 WHITEHALL, Ohio The Whitehall Division of Police have identified the two men who were killed in what authorities are investigating as a murder-suicide. Police responded to an apartment on Bernhard Road, just west of East Main Street and South Hamilton Road, around 1:30 p.m. Monday for a shots fired call. Whitehall police said officers found numerous shell casings in front of the building when they arrived on the scene. After finding more shell casing in the common hallway, officers noticed the front doors to two apartments were forced open. In the first apartment, officers found Michael Haycook dead from an apparent gunshot wound. No one was found in the second apartment. ....
Whitehall police said Tuesday that a shooting that left two men dead at an apartment complex is believed to have been a murder-suicide involving two residents who didn t get along. Michael Haycook, 60, was found fatally shot inside one of the apartments in the small, approximately 10-unit apartment building on the 800 block of Bernhard Road, police said. The door to an apartment two doors away from Haycook s was barricaded. Officers were able to see through a window and saw 36-year-old Roderick Moon down on the floor. Once police gained entry, Moon was found dead from what Whitehall investigators say appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. There were two firearms found near him. ....

State police at Frackville reported the following: â¢Â A 41-year-old Barnesville man was threatened by another employee at a business on Summer Valley Road in East Brunswick Twp. on Nov. 24. The investigation is ongoing. â¢Â A 23-year-old McAdoo woman told troopers a 49-year-old Drums man punched her in the back of the head and spit on her on East Grant Street in McAdoo on Nov. 27 at 12:08 a.m. The names were not released but the man faces a harassment charge. â¢Â John J. Jeffries, 61, Barnesville, was eastbound on Route 54 (Barnesville Drive) in Ryan Twp. on Nov. 28 at 5:15 p.m. in a Toyota Rav4 when he crossed into the oncoming lane. Joel J. Rivera, 30, Summit Hill, pulled his westbound Honda Odyssey to the right should and slowed to avoid a crash but his left side mirror was hit. ....
