BURLINGTON â If a city is lucky enough to have a loop, then folks should do loop stuff, right? That is the thinking behind a new event, Loop Day, to highlight and celebrate Burlingtonâs semi-circular downtown shopping district. The event scheduled for Saturday, June 5, will close off the street so that pedestrians can mingle freely in a festival atmosphere while Loop merchants display their goods outside. Located along Chestnut Street between Pine Street and Milwaukee Street, the Loop does not cover a lot of real estate. But what it lacks in size, it makes up for with its distinctive appearance and character. ....

Charlene Miller as the Ward 2 clean-up, the annual event has expanded across the City in recent years, and now includes Wards 2, 3, 4 and 7. “Everybody wanted to participate this year and a few more wards came on board,” Miller said during an interview on Tuesday. “We’re glad to see everybody’s a willing participant in the community clean-up.” ....
