DOW TO LEAVE U.S. TRAVEL AFTER 17 YEARS: Roger Dow, the longtime president and chief executive of the
U.S. Travel Association, a top industry lobbying group, will step down next year, the association announced this morning. Dow, who joined the association in 2005, has extended his contract through next July while the group’s board of directors kicks off a search for his replacement. Die USA und Deutschland haben sich nach einem jahrelangen Streit über Nord Stream 2 in dieser Woche endlich einigen können. Nun äußert sich der Rohstoffriese Gazprom sowie die russische Regierung, welche die Mehrheit am Konzern hält.
So hat Russland nach der Einigung zur Ostseepipeline Nord Stream 2 die Bereitschaft zu Verhandlungen über einen Gastransit durch die Ukraine über das Jahr 2024 hinaus bekräftigt. Präsident Wladimir Putin habe immer wieder gesagt, dass Russland je nach wirtschaftlicher Notwendigkeit bereit sei, über eine Verlängerung des Vertrags zu sprechen, sagte Kremlsprecher Dmitri Peskow am Donnerstag der Agentur Interfax zufolge. Der aktuelle Vertrag läuft 2024 aus. ....
