In addition to claiming nearly 50,000 lives in Texas, COVID-19 has resulted in job loss for thousands more. Along with a loss of income, many of these Texans lost their health insurance coverage. But a collaborative is stepping up to provide short-term assistance to those in need of coverage. The United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council, and the Dallas County Enroll North Texas ACA Coalition have launched the North Texas Healthcare Coverage Collaborative (NTHCC) to provide financial assistance to help purchase coverage.  ....

DALLAS — The video began with blurred street lights beneath an evening sky. Sounds of police sirens, TV news reports and protest chants of “I can’t breathe” followed, setting the stage for an urgently worded statement attributed to the Dallas Cowboys: “Our hearts are burning with anger and sadness. Racism and hatred have to stop. We have to come together to change the system.”
On June 5, the Cowboys published this two-minute video, which featured archived testimonials from players and community leaders, on social media and their website. The team named the video “Protest to Progress,” calling it the “first in a series that will be released by the Dallas Cowboys.” ....
