EVANSVILLE, Ind.  Local vaccinations against COVID-19 are slowing dramatically, with Vanderburgh County s seven-day average of total daily doses dropping to just 272 as of Tuesday the most recent day for which data is available.
That is a steady descent from the same time last week when Vanderburgh County s seven-day average of total daily doses was 514. 
The Indiana State Department of Health defines the seven-day average of total daily doses as the moving average (6 previous days and 1 current day) of all doses administered. The number can be found on ISDH s COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard. ....

EVANSVILLE, Ind.  Thursday brought more evidence of Vanderburgh County s COVID-19 vaccination slowdown, with the county s seven-day average of total daily doses sinking again. 
The number, which the Indiana State Department of Health defines as the moving average (6 previous days and 1 current day) of all doses administered, was 724 as of Monday. Tuesday s adjusted figure came in at 605 on ISDH s COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard. And Wednesday s number  the one released Thursday  was 546.
The steep decline in the average, which reached 1,548 as recently as April 12, illustrates what has become a month-long slowdown of vaccinations in Vanderburgh County. ....

EVANSVILLE, Ind.  David Figueroa has spent months with his head banging back and forth between a stepmother who says it s crazy to take a COVID-19 vaccine and a boss who would appreciate it very much.
Figueroa, 34, finally took a stand Wednesday morning, using the launching of a major new vaccination offensive to take the shot. He showed up at the first in a new series of mobile vaccination clinics staged on Wednesdays by the Vanderburgh County Health Department at Hartke Pool. He was among the first of 40 people vaccinated by day s end. ....

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Travelers might want to hold onto those masks just a while longer.
On Friday, officials with the Transportation Security Administration announced they are extending the face mask requirement for passengers on planes, trains and buses through September 13.
This decision goes along with the most recent guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which state that fully-vaccinated individuals can travel safely within the U.S. However, CDC officials say these people should still wear masks, socially distance, as well as wash their hands or use sanitizers. ....
