Stilt walkers take a closer look at the flags A STUNNING and colourful aerial street canopy of flags has been unveiled in Falmouth as the centrepiece to the extensive Big Spring Clean project. At nearly 200 metres long and comprising over 750 Falmouth-branded flags, the impressive new structure spans the length of Market Street in Falmouth. The new street flags are part of the Big Spring Clean’ project co-ordinated by the Falmouth BID in partnership with Falmouth Town Council. The flags have already proved a huge hit with residents and visitors alike, despite only being installed for a week. A post on the subject via the town’s official Facebook page, which is managed by the Town Team, has received well over 1,000 likes and reached over 45,000 people, with dozens of positive comments also sent into the Town Team office. ....
Trescobeas woodland litter pickers Falmouth’s ‘cleaning’ season has got off to a great start with a successful two-week programme of volunteer cleans. With 14 different locations, more than 130 volunteers and over 15 organisations involved, the initiative saw a record number of cleaning sites tackled by COVID compliant volunteer groups. Volunteer Jake planting new succulent bed on Cliff Road Coordinated by the Falmouth BID and Falmouth Town Council, the town’s businesses, community organisations and residents came together between April 24 and May 5 for a good old Spring clean. Beach, signage and shopfront cleans, litter picks, graffiti removal, and green space revamps all took place, in what has been described as another good example of the strength of the town’s community spirit. ....

The unincorporated community of Promise Land, Tenn., is a piece of living history, carrying on a powerful story of freedom through the descendants of its founders, its educational programs and its ongoing volunteer efforts. And recently, it has also become the site of collaboration between Nashville activists and Dickson County natives. Promise Land was settled shortly after the Civil War by a group of freedmen, including at least six United States Colored Troops veterans, and it quickly became a self-sustaining community. Offaly groups join forces in big litter clean-up Reporter: ); ); Pullough Youth Space were delighted to link up with Pullough Tidy Towns for their Big Spring Clean of Pullough village. A massive 48 bags were collected with members adopting a km , an initiative from Offaly County Council. Bags, gloves, pickers etc were provided and treats were given as a reward for a job well done. Locals have also helped out and continue to do so in order to keep Pullough picturesque and presentable. Pullough Tidy Towns would like to thank all participants as well as the litter warden, who is a great support in the village. ....
On Monday (April 12) high streets in Cheshire West and Chester can reopen. Shops, hairdressers, barbers, and gyms will all be open again for business. Pubs, restaurants, cafés and bars can all serve customers too, but for outdoor service only. All businesses will be required to have strict controls in place to ensure that they operate and trade in line with national guidance in order to ensure staff and customer safety and control the spread of COVID-19.
