Karlyne Morin, also from Big River First Nation, was arrested July 26 and charged with criminal negligence causing death and two counts of forcible confinement in the death of Richard James Netmaker, RCMP said Tuesday in a media release.

Netmaker was reported abducted from his home and assaulted on Jan. 6, 2020. Through their investigation, RCMP determined Netmaker was last seen in an isolated area northwest of Big River First Nation.
His remains were located in a rural area near Pekakumew Lake on Jan. 10, 2020.
A woman has been charged in connection with a suspicious death last year.
Richard Netmaker, 36, of Big River First Nation, was reportedly abducted from his home on Jan. 6, 2020, and assaulted. Police searched for the man and an investigation determined Netmaker had been last seen in an isolated area northwest of his community.
Netmaker was found dead in a rural area near Pekakumew Lake four days later.
On July 26, 2021, Saskatchewan RCMP arrested and charged a woman from Big River First Nation with one count of criminal negligence causing death and two counts of forcible confinement.
The woman has appeared in court in Prince Albert and her next appearance is scheduled for Aug. 5, 2021.
SASKATOON The Saskatchewan RCMP major crimes unit has charged a woman in the 2020 death of a Big River First Nation man. On Jan. 6, 2020 Big River RCMP responded to a report of a man who had been abducted from his home and assaulted, RCMP said in a news release. Police determined the man 36-year-old Richard Netmaker had last been seen in an isolated area northwest of the First Nation, RCMP said. Netmaker was found dead by RCMP on Jan. 10 in a rural area near Pekakumew Lake, according to police. As part of the ongoing investigation into Netmaker s death, 20-year-old Karlyne Morin, was arrested on July 26.
