Penrose-St. Francis to begin construction soon on InterQuest area hospital

The hospital, which would open in January 2023, will be the first building on the 57.8-acre site the health care giant bought last year for $30 million and will focus on orthopedic and spinal care to serve fast-growing northern Colorado Springs and northern El Paso County, Penrose-St. Francis CEO Dr. Brian Erling said. The site would also include a medical office building and surgery center built by a group of orthopedic specialists, he said.
Penrose-St. Francis also operates St. Francis Medical Center at 6001 E. Woodmen Road and Penrose Hospital at 2222 N. Nevada Ave.
“We are incredibly excited to break ground on this project as it will extend our healing ministry to the rapidly growing communities to the north and northeast of our city, and create additional capacity for services at Penrose Hospital, Erling said. Centura Health, which runs Penrose-St. Francis Health Services, broke ground Monday, May 24, on an orthopedic hospital on the city s far north side, which has seen robust growth in the last decade.
The hospital has been namedÂ St. Clare Hospital, named after St. Clare of Assisi,Â a woman who dedicated her life to God and serving the poor and vulnerable.
Located on 58 acres at 10860 New Allegiance Drive, (Interquest Parkway and Interstate 25), the hospital will meet the demands of the growing population in northeast Colorado Springs, Centura said in a release. ....

Centura breaks ground on 3rd Colorado Springs hospital

Centura Health broke ground Monday on the newest part of its continuing expansion in Colorado Springs a 72-bed hospital named for St. Clare of Assisi, founder of the Catholic religious order of nuns.
The $160 million St. Clare Hospital is scheduled to open in March 2023 southeast of Interstate 25 and InterQuest Parkway to serve the fast-growing neighborhoods of northern Colorado Springs and northern El Paso County. The four-story, 140,000-square-foot hospital will specialize in orthopedic and spine care and will employ about 400 people, said Dr. Brian Erling, CEO of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services, the Centura unit that will operate St. Clare Hospital.
It is rare to start a new hospital, and rarer still to do it after surviving a pandemic, said Rene Campagna, Centura s group vice president of mission integration. Make no mistake, the Democratic-led state transportation and green initiative bill is a flurry of fees and expenses that directly attack your pocketbook. Our state has an approximately $35 billion budget with an additional $6 billion coming from the Washington, D.C., printing press. The fact is, our state already has money for roads, but the Democratic majority refuses to use it for infrastructure. The question remains, how many billions of dollars can our state compile before the Democrats will stop taking more of your money?
For our state to bring in billions of dollars, continue to starve our roads, then take more money out of your pocket with the promise to use it for infrastructure, is pure disrespect of your hard-earned money. Let’s actually make our roads a priority and use the billions of dollars we have.
