Submitted News RICHMOND, INDIANA Canton resident Carol Davis received a Master of Arts in Theopoetics and Writing (MATW) on Saturday, May 9, from Bethany Theological Seminary in Richmond, Indiana. Davis and three other Bethany classmates, one from California, one from Louisiana, and one from Washington state, comprised the first class to receive the new degree. The MATW degree enables students to focus study in ways that celebrate mystery, metaphor, and meaning in texts and contexts for expansive reflection, critical engagement, and various forms of writing. The MATW joins theology, poetry, narrative, spirituality, and public conversations together in the pursuit of inquiry and understanding that result in creative production across multiple genres, said Dr. Scott Holland who created the Bethany program. ....

A pastor, Peters has been president of J.B. Peters Consulting Corp., senior vice president of Mutual Aid Exchange, organizational development consultant for Advocate Health Systems, and director of ministry and senior human resource officer for the Church of the Brethren General Board. The Glenwood, Minnesota, resident graduated from Manchester in 1962. ....
Church of the Brethren Newsline December 11, 2020 By Roxane Hill and Roy Winter On Dec. 8, the annual Tripartite Meeting between the Church of the Brethren, Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN, the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria), and Mission 21 (a German and Swiss mission organization) was held via Zoom. EYN staff participated from the Technology Center in Jos, Nigeria, that was constructed with support from Bethany Theological Seminary. Attending the meeting from EYN were the President, General Secretary, Director of Finance, and four members of the EYN Disaster Ministry. Mission 21 was represented by its Country Coordinator, Program Officer, and Head of International Relations. Church of the Brethren representatives included the Executive Director of Service Ministries, Interim Directors of Global Mission, and Interim Office Manager for Global Mission. ....
