 CANTON The village is looking for candidates for two new positions to help run its recreation program this summer.
Applicants are being sought for a beach director to manage Taylor Park this summer and swimming lessons coordinator to handle the recreation program’s annual swimming classes.
In the past the village, with funding contributions from the town, have fielded a recreation director to oversee all aspects of the program, but following the departure of the last director, Jim Putnam, last year and the pandemic-imposed shutdown, Canton authorized a committee to look at ways to change the program to better meet community need under tighter financial times. ....
