  Centenary Stage Company Closes Out Women Playwrights Series With Loretta The Yodeling Cowgirl On May 5th (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) The final reading in this season’s Women Playwrights Series at Centenary Stage Company is Vita Patrick Morales’s  Loretta the Yodeling Cowgirl taking place on Wednesday, May 5th at 7:30pm in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center. The play is inspired by a true story of Loretta and her wiry friend, Em, who live in a home for the aged in Mount Jewett, Pennsylvania. Their days are the same and their banter circuitous. But when Loretta learns that her daughters are about to sell the family home, she travels back in time to the days of her Yodeling Cowgirl fame, and the choices she made for happiness.​

Princeton Symphony Orchestra Presents 4th Concert In Online Buskaid (PRINCETON, NJ) The Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) will present the fourth concert in its online  Buskaid – A Musical Miracle series showcasing South Africa’s renowned Buskaid Soweto String Ensemble. Curious Creatures and a Heavenly Harp will be available on demand Friday, April 30 - Sunday, May 2. Performed works include  Capriccio Stravagante by Carlo Farina, Claude Debussy’s  Danse sacrée et danse profane with guest harpist Jude Harpstar, and Felix Mendelssohn’s String Symphony No. 10. Buskaid-trained violinist Mzwandile Twala performs Fritz Kreisler’s Praeludium and Allegro. Completing the musical array are beloved pop songs and dynamic kwela music. Buskaid founder Rosemary Nalden conducts.

Music Producer Carmen Verderosa To Be Celebrated in WDVR-FM Radio Show on April 21 (RARITAN, NJ) Musicians representing 15 acts from New Jersey will perform in a tribute radio broadcast on April 21 to honor Carmen Verderosa, an accomplished sound engineer, music producer and owner of Woodrock Studios LLC. Verderosa of Lebanon, N.J. was 54 years old when he passed away from Covid-19 in February. The show will broadcast on WDVR-FM 89.7 hosted by DJ Andy Kin from 6:00pm-8:00pm on April 21 and will stream on www.wdvrvolunteers.org/live. The tribute will feature original songs written and produced by Verderosa, and performances by several of the bands he loved representing a range of music genres including solo acoustic, R&B, metal and rock. Band members and Verderosa’s wife Kathy Pettigrew Krautsieder will add their personal stories about his humor, and the creativity and dedication he brought to every recording session.
