Advocate Motlanthe gives his 100 days Report 21 May 2021 – SAFA CEO Advocate Tebogo Motlanthe gave his 100 days Report Back on which he touched on various issues regarding the Association at a Press Briefing on Friday, 21 May 2021. Flanked by SAFA Provincial Chairpersons, NEC members and Vice President, Gladwyn White, Advocate Motlanthe touched on staffing matters, sponsorship, finances, competitions and governance, among others. Those in attendance at the Press Briefing were Mzimkhulu Fina (Eastern Cape), Letima Mogorosi (Free State), Jack Maluleka and Vincent Rampago (Limpopo), Aubrey Baartman (Northern Cape), Kwenza Ngwenya (KZN), David Molwantwa (North West) and Tankiso Modipa (Western Cape). The Provincial Representatives including VP White spoke on the stability within the entire SAFA Provinces and programmes regarding football development. ....
Two Sports Join European Games Program - Federation Focus 03/31/21 (ATR) Sport climbing and triathlon are the latest sports to be added to the program for the European Games Krakow-Malopolska 2023. Sport climbing will debut in 2023. (Eddie Fowlke/IFSC) Sport climbing, which makes its Olympic Games debut this summer at Tokyo 2020, will be making its first appearance at the European Games in 2023. Athletes will compete in Poland with qualifying opportunities for Paris 2024 available. Triathlon will return to the European Games fold in 2023 for the second time after featuring at the first edition in Baku in 2015. International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) President Marco Scolaris said his sport’s inclusion in the European Games will be an excellent platform for the continent’s best climbers. ....
Rugby Africa announces establishment of Referee Committee 02/11/21 The Rugby Africa (RA) [www.RugbyAfrique.com] Referee Committee, formally launched at its inaugural meeting in December, was founded to – amongst others - establish an African referee panel, monitor its growth and development, further the development of African match officials and monitor the Laws of the Game and playing trends on the continent. “The Referee Committee is the culmination of close to 10 years of work that RA has done to develop a panel, with the first month-long referee camps held in Stellenbosch in 2013. Thanks to our dedicated partnerships with SARU and the FFR to fast track and promote our referees, this official commission goes one step further in structuring our efforts and to professionalise our competitions management,” explains Nasser Bougja, RA Executive member. ....
