Approval granted for new Lidl store in Limerick

Limerick City and County Council have granted planning permission for another Lidl store.
The new store on the Dock Road would create 30 new local permanent jobs as well as many more during the construction phase.
Lidl plan to proceed with development at the site of the former National Rusk Factory as soon as possible provided there are no appeals to An Bórd Pleaála.
Meanwhile development of another Lidl store has recommenced at the site in Corbally following the lifting of restrictions. There are Lidl stores in Castletroy, on Childers Road and on the Ennis Road.  ....

Two All-Ireland winners are launching the first ever clothing line aimed exclusively at Ladies Gaelic football players.
Oonagh Whyte, who is part of Dublin’s dominant team at senior level, and Orlaith Duff, who won last year’s intermediate All-Ireland with Meath, have founded Field Queens with their first product set to be gloves aimed at women players. They are planning on also launching gym socks, shorts and leggings. ....

Lockdown has placed restrictions on most aspects of people’s lives, but Barnstorm Theatre Company and Barn Owl Players continue to prove that even the most ardent of lockdowns has not put a barrier on the arts.
Beginning with their successful monologue virtual production, Zoom BOP: Confinement, last September, the two companies set out to up the stakes by producing, Love in Lockdown, a series of newly written short plays.
The plan was to produce five new works, but when the call went out for submissions, the calibre was high, and Love In Lockdown became a two-part event with five new short plays in each show. ....

The 25 clubs who will participate in Lidl Ireland’s new One Good Club mental health awareness programme will commence their activities next Monday, March 1. Among them is Longford club Carrickedmond. 
Lidl’s One Good Club is a five-step youth mental health awareness programme for local clubs, developed in partnership with the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) and Jigsaw, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health.  
Details of the programme were revealed at the 2020 Lidl National Football League launch – with clubs chosen to participate identified following the receipt of over 900 nominations from local communities.   ....
