A rare exotic bird which was believed to be extinct in the British wild has been caught on camera wandering around a garden in St Andrews. The Lady Amherst s pheasant was introduced to the UK from China in the 19th Century and there have been no reported sightings of the bird since 2019. But student Sophie Pearson, 23, was stunned when she saw the creature strut past her window in Fife, Scotland, last Friday. She captured pictures of the bird after feeding it some oats and said it wasn t shy, letting her and her flatmates get close to it as it plodded around their garden. ....
