TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â Nijah Proctor is working at her mom s store Obsessions Gift Shop in the Railroad Square Art District. Nijah is also on the autism spectrum.
When I was much younger, I wouldn t talk to other people, said Nijah.
Now, after working for Obsessions, Nijah has learned how to interract with customers and others on the spectrum.
Betty Proctor says the improvements she s seen through her daughter are why she started her non-profit Moving People through Arts and Crafts.
The goal is to fund workshops that help people on the spectrum express themselves through creativity. ....

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â Obsessions Gift Shop held a spin art class fundraiser Sunday with the cash raised going to its non-profit Motivating People through Arts and Crafts.
Co-owner Betty Proctor told ABC 27 that she wants to help people on the spectrum through whatever difficulties they have and teach others what they go through.
We re helping with employability skills, entrepreneurship skills leadership skills and most of all communication, said Proctor.
Obsessions Gift Shop will be holding a free art workshop for women on the spectrum on Thursday. ....
