LNG imports threaten investments in Ghana's oil industry - ACEP, Tullow

The country’s oil industry experts have warned that the agreement allowing for the importation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) poses a direct risk to the investment plans of international oil companies (IOCs) interested in the upstream oil and gas activities.
With the current volume of gas from the country’s fields and Nigeria, adding LNG imports holds the potential to discourage investors and send existing investors from further investment in the country’s upstream sector.
This follows the emergence of Shell LNG, which has entered into a take-or-pay agreement with the national oil company – Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) when the country’s domestic gas and supplies from Nigeria remain sufficient. ....

Ghana's Power Sector Will Be In Debt Of $24 Billion In 2024 - Kwesi Pratt Reveals


 
Seasoned journalist, Kwesi Pratt says Ghana s power sector will be in debt of 24 billion dollars in 2024.
According to him, the indebtedness of the power sector is a major cause of the power cuts in the country.
He made this revelation during a panel discussion on 
Peace FM s  Kokrokoo .
GRIDCo annouced to Ghanaians that some areas of the country, particularly in the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions, will experience erratic power supply in the months ahead.
The energy provider says this is due to some maintenance works it is undertaking on some lines.
Kwesi Pratt expressed worry over the impact of the power outages on businesses. ....
