Bengaluru, Apr 19: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) State President D K Shivakumar today urged the state government to earmark Rs 30,000 crore for the Health sector.
In a tweet, he said the covid-19 positive cases have been increasing every day, particularly in Bangaluru. Affected persons have not got ICU, Redmisir and oxygen and shortage and situation becoming grim, the state government should stop the developmental activities and use the funds to take up all precautionary measures on a war footing.
Stating that the State has the highest number of Medical colleges, sufficient Doctors and paramedical staff, the government should make use of their services. The testing for covid-19 should be increased. ....

Mysuru, Apr 8: As Covid-19 cases surge in Karnataka, especially in Bengaluru urban, people coming to Mysuru from the state capital have been advised to get Covid negative report.
Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri has suggested people travelling to Mysuru carry a test report. The DC said a large number of people travel between the two cities for business and other purposes.
The DC also made it mandatory for tourists to carry a negative report.
In this regard, it is appropriate for those travelling to Mysuru district from Bengaluru to have a Covid-19 negative report (not older than 72 hours). It is hereby requested to cooperate to control the Covid-19 spread by following the advisory, it added. ....

Thirteen medicos in Bengaluru test positive for COVID-19, some even after vaccine jabs

BENGALURU: As many as 13 medical students of the Bengaluru Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) have been tested Covid positive.
Surprisingly, some of the infected students had even been vaccinated with the second dose. The affected students are currently under isolation in separate hostel rooms.  
Dr Smitha Segu, Covid-19 nodal officer at BMCRI, confirmed that none of the 13 MBBS students have had any travel history.
“A few students developed symptoms and tests were carried out. Then, testing was carried out in the BMCRI hostel and 13 were found positive. Some of them were even inoculated, but their infection severity is less,” she said. ....
