Frances William Beckett died at the age of 90 on January 6.
At his funeral service on January 14 work colleagues spoke of their admiration and regard for Frank.
In delivering the eulogy, Terry Hynes said it was real pleasure talk about an old friend and colleague, a vet he had worked with for more than 20 years and had known for over 50 years. ....

President Donald Trump called for an end to religious persecution this week in an official proclamation Monday, coinciding with the 850th anniversary of the death of English archbishop Thomas Becket.
The proclamation calls Becket, who was martyred on December 29, 1170, a lion of religious liberty and notes that even before the Magna was drafted and the right to free exercise of religion was enshrined in the U.S. Constitution, he gave his life in order that the Church will attain liberty and peace. ....

Trump calls for end to 'religious persecution worldwide' on 850th anniversary of Thomas Becket's death

“Before the Magna Carta was drafted, before the right to free exercise of religion was enshrined as America s first freedom in our glorious Constitution, Thomas gave his life so that, as he said, the Church will attain liberty and peace, ” Trump wrote in a statement.
In his proclamation, Trump made a call to “end religious persecution worldwide.”

According to the BBC, Becket was an archbishop born around 1120 who frequently clashed with Henry over the rights and independence of the Catholic Church. His life and assassination have been the subject of countless artistic works, including famous plays by Alfred Tennyson and Jean Anouilh. ....
