The Arkansas PBS Foundation has a new name, a new board president and new board members as it supports a bigger role than ever for Arkansas PBS, formerly the Arkansas Educational Television Network.
The Conway-based network proved “just how essential and valuable the network is to the citizens of Arkansas” through a pandemic year of educational services, including curriculums for students learning at home and development programs for readjusting teachers.
The foundation has a relatively new executive director, Marge Betley, after it healed a rift with its parent network that widened over the firing of longtime foundation COO Mona Dixon in 2019. ....

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WKBT) The Kiwanis Club of Eau Claire will present a $25,000 check to support the Story Builder campaign for the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library expansion project at 1 p.m. Jan. 7 at the Eau Claire Golf & Country Club in Altoona.
Kiwanis representatives will include club President Sheila Wall, President-elect Tom Mihajlov and Secretary Becky Mattson. Library representatives will include Story Builder campaign co-chair Carol Gabler and Deputy Director Kimberly Hennings.
The contribution reflects the Kiwanis vision of being “a positive influence in communities worldwide so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive,” according to a club news release. ....
