Under the Rural Libraries grant of the Childrenâs Literacy Foundation, the Solomon Wright Public Library got $2,500 worth of new books, $250 toward supplies for a pre-kindergarten reading program as well as free books for Pownal students. The Pownal Elementary School Library, on the other hand, was awarded $500 worth of digital books and two storytelling events for local students. Both libraries received their chosen books in mid-December after being identified as grant awardees in August, said Jen Ryan, director of the Solomon Wright Public Library, who applied for the grant. ....
