STAFF REPORTER GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday stated that during police investigation it has been revealed that the illicit drugs are smuggled to Assam from the Golden Triangle which comprises parts of Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand. He was replying to a written (un-starred) question by AGP (Asom Gana Parishad) MLA Phani Bhushan Choudhury in the Assembly House. In his reply, the CM underlined that the drug contrabands seized in the State are smuggled from neighbouring States. Drugs like heroin and brown sugar are produced in the Golden Triangle and are smuggled to Assam from Myanmar through the Manipur-Mizoram border.
