FurEver Home raises more than $12,000 in livestream event

With a four-hour livestream full of games, treats and buckets of ice, FurEver Home Inc. raised more than $12,000 for its operations Monday.
The Fremont shelter’s Facebook Live fundraiser took place in conjunction with Kris Rotonda of Jordan’s Way, who is traveling to all 50 states to raise awareness for animal shelters.
“We only have our nail-trimming going on, so we’ve not had a lot of events to welcome the public to,” FurEver Home President Deb Newill said. “So it was a godsend today to have Kris do this here and just have the public interact all day with us.” ....

Fremont City Council approves DCHS termination letter


Fremont City Council voted in favor of issuing a letter of termination to the Dodge County Humane Society during its Tuesday meeting.
The letter, signed by Mayor Joey Spellerberg, outlines several sections of the city’s contract with DCHS that have been in violation and have not been remedied since a Notice of Cure toward the end of October.
In the letter, the city established that, due to the lack of action to remedy the noted violations, the city has the right to exercise the right to terminate its contract with DCHS 30 days after the notice is given.
Five sections of the city’s contract with DCHS were described as being “previously violated” without remedy. ....
