Lansing s estimates of its total unfunded liability have fluctuated by hundreds of millions dollars over recent years. Factors including the health of the stock market and estimated employee life spans can affect the projections.
A report submitted by Lansing to the Michigan Department of Treasury in December for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020 pegged the city s total unfunded liability at $906.9 million, including $563.5 million in health care costs and $343.4 million in pension costs. The prior year, Lansing estimated its total unfunded liability at more than $736.6 million, including $431.3 million in retiree health care liability and $305.3 million in pension liability, according to the city. ....

BELLEFONTE The 73rd annual Mount Nittany Medical Center Charity Ball raised more than $137,000, helping to advance the critical work of Mount Nittany Health’s Children’s Advocacy Center.
This year, while it was not possible to physically gather, Mount Nittany Health Foundation, in conjunction with the Charity Ball committee co-chaired by Gina Woskob and Tracie Doucette invited community members to join them in making a difference in the lives of area children through gifts to the Center.
Executive Director of the Children’s Advocacy Center, Meredith Thompson, shared, “On behalf of the children and families for which Mount Nittany Health Children’s Advocacy Center provides services, thank you! Thank you to the sponsors, donors and Charity Ball committee for envisioning the Charity Ball in a way that, without gathering, supported the Center’s vital work.
