JAMMU, Dec 27: Poonch Police and Army today foiled a major plot by the militants to trigger communal tension in Poonch district with arrest of three militants of newly floated JK Ghaznavi Force in Mendhar area who were planning to target religious places of minorities starting with famous temple of Ari. Six grenades have so far been recovered from their possession.
Apart from three arrests, two more persons gave been detained for questioning. ....

JAMMU: Police on Sunday claimed to have foiled a terror plot to attack temples in the border district of Poonch with the arrest of three Pakistan-linked terrorists, besides recovering six grenades from them. The trio is said to be affiliated to J&K Ghaznavi Force, a newly floated terror outfit.
Two foreign terrorists of the outfit were slain in an encounter in Poonch’s Dogrian on December 20.
“Acting on intelligence inputs, a joint team of Army’s 49RR, J&K Police’s special operations group and Poonch Police set up a checkpoint at Basooni late Saturday and intercepted a vehicle driven by Mustafa Khan, a terror suspect, who was questioned for his suspicious movement. JAMMU, Dec 21: Ahead of the counting for 280 seats of the District Development Council (DDC) elections in Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow, Poonch police foiled a major plot by many candidates and their supporters to trigger large scale violence at the counting centre by seizing over 500 lathis, bats, hockeys and other such items from the vehicles which were heading from Mendhar, Mankote and Surankote to Poonch. Police have seized seven vehicles so far, arrested two persons, and lodged FIR against all the accused at Poonch police station. ....

JAMMU, Dec 13: Army and Poonch Police today gunned down two Pakistani militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit while a Kashmiri ultra surrendered and a civilian was rescued at Tatta Pani near Poshana area in the Pir Panjal range of Surankote in Poonch district.
Official sources told the Excelsior that two Pakistani militants of the LeT outfit infiltrated from the Line of Control (LoC) around 10 days back and a Kashmiri militant identified as Mubarak Ahmad Thokar son of Mohammad Abdullah Thokar, a resident of Kumhar Mohalla in Ramnagri area of Shopian district had reached Mughal road in i10 car No. 1838 JK11A to take them to Kashmir. ....
