A spokeswoman for GWH apologised to patients at Abbey Meads and Moredon, saying: “There are currently widespread challenges in primary care, which have been made all the more difficult due to the impact of Covid-19. “The second wave of coronavirus, which we experienced at the start of this year, was particularly demanding on staff and it should be noted that the survey responses were collated during this period. “We know that this is not an excuse though and want to apologise to our patients for their experiences with our practices. “We took on these practices at the end of 2019 following significant failings under the previous provider.
A NEW survey has revealed the best and worst GP practices in Swindon according to patients. Patients were invited to share their views on a wide range of topics, including making appointments with their doctor and accessing information. Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Clinical Commission Group sent out 26,551 questionnaires, of which 12,684 were returned completed as part of the annual GP Patient Survey. The findings are being used to identify potential improvements and highlight best practice. While Cricklade Surgery was named the best surgery in Swindon with a satisfaction rating of 97 per cent, at the other end of the scale Park Lane Practice scored only 57 per cent.
