Stop attacking Ortom, address issues he raised - Benue Youths tell presidency

The Benue Youth Forum (BYF) has condemned media reports credited to the Buhari Media Organization (BMO) and other groups attacking Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State over his recent comment on herdsmen.
The group urged the presidency to address issues raised by the governor, stressing that attack on Ortom would not solve the problem.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by its president, Terrence Kuanum, the group alleged that the media report was sponsored by the Presidency to vilify the Governor for calling on the President to act on security situation in the country.
The group recalled that Governor Ortom exposed the perpetrators of insecurity in the country and called for their arrest and prosecution. ....

Pro-Buhari group blasts PDP for 'showcasing shameless ineptitude to the outside world'

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has lampooned the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accusing it of “engaging in shameful, infantile acts before the international community to buttress its status as an opposition party.”
In a statement jointly signed on Thursday by the Chairman of BMO, Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary, Cassidy Madueke, the Buhari media team said instead of the PDP jumping into issues without an adequate grasp of the situation, its leadership should rather seek insights from international bodies on how to play the role of a credible, responsible opposition in a democracy.
The statement reads:
“We are surprised to see that PDP has resumed the embarrassing pandering to the United States authorities that it took to ridiculous heights in the Donald Trump years with its recent interaction with the political officer at the American Embassy. ....

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday in his New Year broadcast decried the level of violence in the country, saying insecurity is setting Nigeria back at “critical points” through the destruction of public and private investments.
According to him, the raging insecurity is having an adverse effect on the economic growth of Nigeria, but the nation is on a difficult journey to nationhood and greatness.
On the same day, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, said aside the effect of the COVID-19 last year, Nigeria suffered greatly in 2020 because of “lazy and uninspiring leadership, especially from the government at the centre.” ....
