MARYVILLE, Tenn. We re not just a, you know, quiet building full of books.
To be fair, the Blount County Public Library does, in face, have a ton of books.
But also tons of DVDs, audiobooks, concerts, parties, a café, workshops, classes, a farmers market and everything in between.
Sarah Smith s job at the library is to make sure people know about all these things through social media.
Growing collections: Blount County Seed Library opens to public

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. The Blount County Public Library is growing and it will offer more than just books starting Monday. It will start offering seeds through its Seed Library.
The new program will allow people with a library card to check out packs of seeds to grow at home. People will be able to check which seeds are available on the library s website, as well as request the seeds they want. There is a limit of five packs of seeds once per month.
Mrs. Vicki Alica (Clabough) Wilson, age 69, passed away on Feb. 17, 2021, after a 13-year long battle with breast cancer.
Vicki passed peacefully at home, surrounded by family as she drifted away to be with the Lord. She was a well-loved pillar in her communities of Maryville and Seymour. She was born Aug. 6, 1951, in Maryville, Tennessee, to loving parents Robert âHickeyâ and Elliot Clabough.
Vicki held various occupations in her lifetime, including several in the retail industry; however, she took enormous pride in the work she provided in the Childrenâs section of the Blount County Public Library. She was known for her abilities as a fantastic storyteller and cherished every moment she spent with her communityâs many children. She was an active member of her community and spent numerous hours volunteering
