Goldsboro Police Department will no longer provide school
resource officers at Dillard Middle School.

The resource officer will be assigned to Goldsboro High School and the Wayne School of Engineering, said Police Chief Mike West on Wednesday.
Councilman Taj Polack made the motion, which was seconded by Councilman Gene Aycock.
The vote followed a presentation by West who expressed staffing concerns. GPD for years has grappled with double-digit officer vacancies.
