Why did these Latter-day Saint youths ride their bikes 300-plus miles?

Young men from Lehi’s Eaglecrest 3rd Latter-day Saint Ward stand in front of the Payson Utah Temple on May 31. The Payson temple was one of eight temple stops along the group’s bicycle “Tour de Temples,” covering more than 300 miles from Lehi to St. George, Utah.

A line of young men and a few adult leaders on bicycles, all in matching white shirts, black shorts and helmets, pedaled triumphantly into sunny St. George with sore muscles and fatigue Wednesday afternoon.
As the group rolled to a stop near the St. George Utah Temple, another youth walked among them, aiming a water gun and squirting cool liquid on each rider. ....

National Park Service
Normally at this time of year, Lake Powell’s water level would have risen substantially due to spring runoff, but not this year. It’s continued to drop through the month of May.
The steep vertical drop is recontouring the lake along the southern Utah border with Arizona, stranding launch ramps, and adding to the fears of boaters while brightening the hopes of those who would like to see the lake permanently drained.

LAKE POWELL, Utah (KSTU) A curious discovery along the edges of Lake Powell has been uncovered as the shoreline shrinks during what could be one of the worst drought years on record for the reservoir.
The low water levels revealed a fascinating find for one group during a friends and family fishing trip last weekend.
Liz Bowles described how they had never seen the Lake Powell shoreline like this.
“It’s lower than we’ve ever seen with the water. It’s pretty crazy,” Bowles said.
It was so low that during their camping and fishing trip, Bowles and the others discovered the boat ramp at Bullfrog Marina had closed. New areas and things like trees previously covered by water sat exposed. ....
