Written by RPS Superintendent of Schools, Susie DaSilva A Few Bits. Board of Education Budget News The Town held its Annual Town Meeting on Saturday April 24. It was great to see and talk to everyone in person after all these months! During the meeting the Town voted to move the Board of Education’s fiscal 2021-2022 general operating budget as approved by the Board of Finance as well as the Town’s fiscal 2021-2022 general operating budget forward to referendum. The Town Referendum will be on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at the East Ridge Middle School between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. In addition, at the April 24 Annual Town Meeting, various capital projects under $100,000 for both Town and the Board of Education were voted on and approved. Capital projects over $100,000 will be voted on at referendum. ....

Thursday, March 18- The Board of Education will present their budget to the Board of Finance. Saturday, April 24- Annual Town Meeting on the Town and Board of Education 2021-22 Budgets. Tuesday, May 11- Town Referendum on the Town and Board of Education Budgets. Asynchronous Learning Day On Monday, March 15th, elementary students will be able to access a special virtual science event by DOKTOR KABOOM! and the Wheel of Science. This event is sponsored by the Ridgefield Education Foundation, the Ridgefield Council of PTA’s, and the Ridgefield Public Schools. Teachers will share the link to the event on Monday. ....
Written by RPS School Status Our communication this Wednesday indicated that our elementary schools will return in full beginning on Monday, February 1. We reminded families that it is important to be prepared to shift learning models as we navigate these complex times. Our next update is planned for February 3. Health and Safety With Monday’s planned return to full in-person instruction at the elementary level, we will continue to closely monitor cases of COVID-19 if and when they appear. We evaluate each case to better understand the potential source of exposure, and if we determine that an active outbreak is occurring due to in school transmission we will respond accordingly. ....

January 28, 2021 12:17PM Students at Mercy High School in Middletown, joined by their schoolâs president, have launched a podcast to connect students with alumnae and the community, while providing a hands-on opportunity for students to take on the role of journalists, learning interviewing skills and technical aspects of producing audio programs. The podcast, Tiger Talk, has already produced a half-dozen episodes since it launched just weeks ago; all available on the Mercy High School website. Individuals can also subscribe on multiple platforms, including iTunes, Google Play, SoundCloud, Stitcher and Spotify. ....
