Creation of provincial-led agro-fishery extension system in NegOcc pushed

May 28, 2021 EMPHASIZING its importance to the development of the local agro-fishery industry, the top official of the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) is pushing for the creation of the Provincial-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System (Pafes) in the province. Provincial Veterinarian Renante Decena, who spoke at the PVO’s consultative meeting with the Department of Agriculture (DA) and Poultry and Livestock Association in Negros Occidental (Plano) at Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City on Wednesday, said the establishment of such an extension system in the provinces is in collaboration with the DA. Pafes aims to strengthen the extension services in the agriculture sector in preparation for the devolution of functions once the Mandanas Ruling will be implemented in 2022.

Published April 24, 2021, 10:43 AM Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) killed two brothers, who were accused of repeatedly raping a then four-year old daughter of their relative in Iligan City in Misamis Oriental, during the serving of arrest warrant in Liloan town of Cebu where they hid after they were charged. AKG spokesperson Lt. Col. Ronaldo Lumactod said the father of the slain suspects and another brother, who were also accused of rape, were able to elude arrest during the operation at around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, April 23.. He identified the slain suspects as Arnel Capangpangan and his brother Marlou. Their father Ariston and brother Ariston Jr. were able to escape and are now being hunted down by the police.
