State Representative Debra Bazemore (D-Riverdale) commends the passage of House Bill 179 by the Georgia House of Representatives on February 24. HB 179 incorporates legislation introduced by Rep. Bazemore to create a specialty license plate supporting the fight against cancer. “I commend my colleagues in the House for recognizing the importance of funding opportunities that come from Georgia’s specialty license plates,” said Rep. Bazemore. “This bill was very personal to me since I am a colon cancer survivor and was unable to purchase a cancer license plate because the current license plates are cancer specific, but this one is all inclusive. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Center for Oncology Research & Education that will advance cancer care through partnerships and innovation.” ....
